windows_for_beginners

Microsoft makes the Windows operating system used in many computers.  There
are several versions of Windows currently in use including Windows 95,
Windows 98, and Windows XP.  The newest version of the Windows operating
system is called Vista. The operating system is a set of instructions that tells your
computer how to run and how to manage t he different programs  that you install.

When you install a newer version of your operating system, you “upgrade” to the
more recent version.

Sometimes Microsoft will discover errors  in the operating system and users will
need to “download a patch” for th e program from the Internet.

Each file or program that opens on the computer will open in its own window.
